Dr. Yvan Poitras and his team offer five 3-day training sessions
annually.
Each session deals with the prosthetic and/or surgical aspects of
oral implantology. One day training sessions in specific areas are
also offered.
In each course, the Institut’s sophisticated equipment and
Dr. Yvan Poitras’ pedagogic approach make possible the concrete
application of the theory. The Institut’s philosophy is based
on the principal that learning is most beneficial when one combines
theory and practice with the tools to integrate them into one’s
daily work.
The objectives of the Institut’s
training program are :
- to master the anatomical particularities of the maxillo-facial
complex and the anatomical variations resulting from the bone resorption
due to the loss of teeth
- to master the fundamental concepts of biology, biomechanics, biomaterials
and bone physiology
- to become acquainted with the methods and
tools of diagnosis, which will permit the evaluation of the patient
in order to establish a treatment plan in implantology
- to learn the sequence of the essential steps in creating a prosthesis
