THE PROSTHETIC PROGRAM

This program is directed at dental health professionals whose primary interest lies in the prosthetic facets of oral implantology. The objective is to train the participants to restore all types of implants, from the most simple to the most complex.

The program is comprised of three sessions plus an auxiliary course.

Session I
Session II
Session III

Session I: Prosthodontics, diagnosis and treatment in oral implantology

Summary:

At the end of the session, the dentist is able to make a precise diagnosis and establish a treatment plan taking into account all of the particularities of the maxillo-facial complex and the anatomical variations which result from bone resorption occasioned by the loss of teeth. The professional will master the fundamental concepts of biology, biomechanics, biomaterials and bone physiology. The methods and diagnostic tools learned enable the dentist to evaluate the patient in order to establish a treatment plan in implantology.

Finally, the professional will be able to carry out the sequential steps in the creation of prostheses and efficiently integrate the learned techniques into his or her practice. This session is a prerequisite for all the other sessions.

Session II: Advanced prosthodontics in oral implantology

Summary:

This session deals with the restoration of complex cases in oral implantology. The various stages in the fabrication of restorations on implants are studied, always with the objective of maintaining the highest criteria of aesthetics and occlusion.

Session III: Principles of advanced occlusion in implantology

Summary:

This session includes a detailed analysis of the “manducator” system and its association with the development of a treatment plan in implantology. In addition to the usual considerations, a complete examination of the original occlusion and the verification of the presence or absence of cranio-mandibular disorders are described. This analysis enables the practitioner to create an efficient treatment plan aimed at a more physiologically active restoration borne on the implant. (This course is given inthe collaboration with Dr. Alain Landry).
