If only one or a few teeth are missing, the prosthesis is fixed to the implant. In the case of complete prostheses, when all the teeth are missing, two possibilities can be considered.

The fixed piece is entirely supported by the implant. It generally does not enter into contact with the mucous membranes. Obviously, this piece is very stable. The removable piece is held up by both the implant and the jaw.

Different elements will guide your choice towards one option or the other. The residual bone volume, the aesthetics and the facility of maintaining oral hygiene are some of the factors which must be taken into consideration.
